The Education Department is all about helping our visitors in their quest for answers to the fascinating questions of history: How can the objects and historic sites in our collection tell stories about our heritage? Who were the ordinary and extraordinary people that made history? And how did our local heritage weave patterns that formed a vital part of the national historical tapestry?
Whether your group includes adults, schoolchildren, scouts or others, we welcome you to explore history with us. Besides our historic sites, our stunning Heritage Museum offers extensive exhibits and an extraordinary research library and archival collection. You can spend one hour or several days, visit one location or many, take an in-depth tour on a single theme or scan a broad overview. Groups enjoy individualized tours with our skilled Museum Educators. School groups will find age-appropriate interactive tour programs closely linked to district curricula, as well as state academic and Common Core learning standards. And if you can’t come to us, our outreach programs can come to you through our speaker’s bureau or program of costumed presenters.
